About Google Analytics
Google Analytics tracks and reports website traffic, user behavior, and conversion data, enabling marketers to optimize online performance and customer journeys
Describe what should happen in Google Analytics, and when, in plain words. Whenever builds the workflow and runs it on a schedule, on a webhook, or when another app sends an event.
Connection requirements, provider permissions and optional AI usage apply. Read the runtime limits.

Through its API, using the credentials and permissions required by the provider.
Connect Claude, Cursor or Codex to the Whenever MCP server and your coding agent can build and deploy the Google Analytics workflow. It runs on Whenever afterwards, on its schedule or webhook, with the chat closed.
Set up the Whenever MCP serverGoogle Analytics automation begins with a reporting question, not an instruction to collect every available metric. For a weekly acquisition review, choose a GA4 property, the completed date range, sessions, key events and a channel breakdown. For a landing-page review, choose the page dimension and the minimum traffic needed to make a comparison useful. Provide the numeric property ID rather than a website URL or a measurement ID beginning with G-.
The Google Analytics Data API returns reports made from dimensions and metrics. Dimensions describe the groups, such as session channel or landing page, while metrics supply counts or amounts. Not every combination is valid, and a metric named in a business brief needs to match the property’s measurement setup. In particular, agree on which events are marked as key events. A change in that configuration can change the interpretation of a comparison even when the workflow performs the same calculation.
Compare like-for-like periods using the property’s reporting timezone. A partial current day is not equivalent to a completed day last week, and recently collected data can change while Google processes it. Include the exact reporting window and extraction time in the destination report. Where the response reports thresholding or data grouped into an other row, preserve that warning rather than presenting the output as a complete list of individual sources. A traffic decline is a signal for investigation, not proof that a campaign or deployment caused it.
The growth-report template proposes combining Google Analytics traffic with HubSpot contacts and deals in a weekly Confluence page. Keep those datasets clearly labeled: sessions are not contacts, deals are not purchases, and an aggregate channel report does not identify which visitor became a particular customer. A factual table can use fixed calculations without an AI step. If you ask for generated recommendations, review them as suggestions; optional runtime AI can vary its output and incur separate usage.
Reporting access requires credentials that can read the selected Analytics property. The Data API also applies property and project quotas, with request complexity affecting consumption. Request the dimensions and date ranges you actually need, and retrieve additional result pages when the report exceeds a single response. These proposed briefs read GA4 reports; they do not install tracking, backfill missing events, recover Universal Analytics history or guarantee that an analytics revenue figure matches your accounting ledger.
Authored starter briefs to configure with your accounts, not preconfigured workflows.
Adapt the growth-report brief into clearly separated Analytics and CRM sections, with no invented person-level attribution between the two.
Compare completed weekly organic-search totals against a defined baseline, and notify the marketing owner only when the agreed thresholds are met.
Use a traffic threshold and observed key-event totals to choose pages for manual review, without equating event counts with unique converted customers.
Real briefs that use this app. Pick one and Whenever writes it against your accounts.
Combines last week's Google Analytics traffic and HubSpot pipeline into a report with five recommended actions, as a Confluence page.
Use the numeric GA4 property ID for Data API reports. A G- measurement ID identifies a data stream and is not the property identifier expected by these reporting requests.
Google Analytics processes incoming data over time, so recently reported figures can change. Use completed periods, record when the report was extracted, and avoid treating a fresh daily total as a final accounting result.
Not from these aggregate reports alone. A weekly report can show sessions alongside new contacts and deals, but those counts describe different things. Person-level attribution would require a separate, appropriately consented measurement design and cannot be inferred from channel totals.
No. The keyEvents metric counts key events according to the property’s configuration. It is not automatically a count of distinct customers, and changes to which events are marked as key events affect how comparisons should be interpreted.
Check that the workflow fetched every result page and inspect report metadata for thresholding or data rolled into an other row. Also check the chosen dimensions, filters and date window. Preserve those qualifications in the exported report rather than replacing omitted information with zeros.
No. These briefs read data available in the selected GA4 property through the Data API. Website instrumentation, missing event collection and access to historical Universal Analytics exports are separate tasks.
