About Whenever

Whenever is an AI workflow automation product by Wix. Describe the process in plain words; AI builds a workflow you can review, run and keep. The aim is to make business automation accessible without requiring you to design a canvas or map every field yourself.

Explain the work, not the wiring

An operator might ask to match payments to orders and flag mismatches, alert only about reviews they have not seen yet, or collect every page of contacts before preparing a report. Those are business rules, not a request to learn a workflow editor.

Whenever uses the description to build the automation. You still decide which accounts it can access, what it should change and when it is ready to run. Reviewing those decisions matters more than whether the first draft came from a person or an AI.

Different from a canvas, different from an improvising agent

Workflow builders organize a process around their available blocks and connections. Whenever builds real code, so the process can express rules such as checking every result page or comparing records across systems rather than stopping at the shape of a prebuilt action.

An AI agent can decide what to do afresh while it works. Whenever saves the workflow’s rules and runs that code. A workflow does not need an AI model call simply to execute its saved instructions. If you deliberately add an AI step, its output can vary and runtime AI usage can apply.

Yours to inspect and take with you

The workflow is a readable TypeScript file, not an export that only another copy of the same canvas can interpret. You can export it or hand it to a developer. The workflow SDK is open source, so developers can inspect the types, trigger helpers and step contract.

You can also bring automation written in a coding tool and deploy it to Whenever. Moving it to a hosted runtime still means configuring its credentials, connections and triggers; exportability does not remove a provider’s authentication or network requirements.

Clear responsibilities when it runs

Whenever provides the place to run the workflow and inspect its run history. Connected services still control their own permissions, plans, quotas and availability. APIs and MCP servers must be reachable from the hosted runtime; a private service does not become reachable just because it appears in a workflow.

AI building and editing have a weekly usage allowance. Runs are metered separately, and optional AI work inside a running workflow is a separate consideration. Use the current pricing and runtime documentation to choose a setup that fits the process.
