Proposed workflow

A starting brief, not a preconfigured workflow or proof of a completed outcome. Review the generated steps and test with your accounts before publishing.

When

Each invoice.payment_failed event Stripe posts to the signed Stripe webhook.

Then

  1. Use its customer email, or the Stripe customer's; stop if none.
  2. Stop if the invoice's metadata recovery_attempt equals its attempt count; otherwise set it to the attempt count first.
  3. Gmail them a short, friendly note with the amount due in major units, currency and the hosted link to pay.
  4. As your connected user, post customer, amount and attempt to the Slack channel id you choose in setup.

Before you publish

After publishing, add a webhook endpoint with its address in Stripe and paste the endpoint’s signing secret into Whenever. Connect Gmail and Slack and choose the destination channel.

Connect the accounts and credentials it needs first. Optional AI steps use AI at runtime and their output can vary, so review the workflow and test it before publishing.
