Workflow starter brief

Turn a Slack message into a Zendesk ticket

Opens a Zendesk ticket when someone reacts to a Slack message with the ticket emoji, and replies in the thread with the link.

Proposed workflow

A starting brief, not a preconfigured workflow or proof of a completed outcome. Review the generated steps and test with your accounts before publishing.

When

Someone adds the ticket emoji reaction to a message in Slack, received by the Slackbot connection.

Then

  1. Read the message and who wrote it.
  2. Create a Zendesk ticket with the message as the description and the author as the requester name.
  3. Using Slackbot, reply in the message's thread with the ticket number and link.
  4. Skip messages whose thread already has a ticket link, so one message never opens two tickets.

Before you publish

Connect the accounts and credentials it needs first. Optional AI steps use AI at runtime and their output can vary, so review the workflow and test it before publishing.
