Ask questions about a Google Sheet in Slack

Answers a plain-English question about a worksheet when someone on your allowed list mentions the bot in Slack, using only the sheet's rows and naming the figures it used.

How it runs

When

A mention of my own Slack app (its app_mention event) in the Slack channel id you choose in setup.

Then

  1. Stop unless the person who mentioned it is on the Slack user id list you choose in setup.
  2. Read the rows of the Google Sheets spreadsheet id and tab name you choose in setup.
  3. Give AI the question and those rows, asking for a plain-English answer from the rows only that names the figures it used.
  4. Reply in the Slack thread with that answer as written, once per mention.
